Ninon Presents: A Love Letter to Oakland, Melanated Folx, and People Who Happen to Be Whyte

NINON presents the Conversations within the NINON Community Series, a series to connect changemakers across various industries, cultures, and backgrounds. Each event will explore a common theme to drive progressive cultural impact and positive social change.

This Event: A Love Letter to Oakland, Melanated Folx, and People Who Happen to Be Whyte

What is community? What does it look like? How do you create it? How can you show up for the community and not lose yourself within it?

Mid-October is the 5th anniversary of being in the Bay Area for NINON founder, Andie. This time has made her reflect on building a community, especially in a new area, not knowing anyone. It hasn’t been easy; however, she is grateful for the people who were a part of the journey that got her to call the Bay Area home.

Roundtable Discussion: How do you Create a Community from Scratch?

Join us as we have a guided conversation around Community. Through this roundtable, you will gain insight and leave knowing:

  • The meaning of community

  • Why is community important

  • How to create and maintain community

  • Boundaries within the community

*Remember to bring a pen and paper to take notes
